STEP 2:
OFFER A NO-BRAINER INEXPENSIVE OFFER THAT PROVIDES ADDITIONAL VALUE & COMPLEMENTS THE FIRST OFFER
Once visitors arrive at your checkout page, offer something of additional value that’s optional, inexpensive and complimentary to the main product. This is called an Order Bump. You want to make this a no-brainer impulsive buy - similar adding a pack of gum to your cart at checkout.
FOR EXAMPLE...
On the order page, a nutrition coach offers an optional $15 downloadable book of original recipes for 25 of the top superfoods you should eat weekly in order to promote weight loss and improve energy.
STEP 3:
PROVIDE AN UPSELL IN THE FORM OF A SPECIAL OFFER
At this point your customers are already in the checkout process and have provided credit card details to purchase your low ticket offer and perhaps your order bump. It's the perfect opportunity to offer additional value to help them get even closer to what they're looking to accomplish.
FOR EXAMPLE...
Continuing with our nutrition coach, let's say she normally charges clients $150 per session. But on her upsell page she makes a special offer of two sessions for only $200 (a savings of $100). Remember the prospect ultimately wants a transformation in his health and fitness, so this offer is aligned with his goals and it's a tremendous value.
STEP 4:
FOLLOW UP... ON AUTOPILOT
Often people need to see something multiple times before making a decision. So you should always follow up with people who purchased your low priced offer, but didn't take you up on your upsell. This is done using simple AUTOMATED sequences to nurture prospects, highlight features and benefits, and share your offer again.
FOR EXAMPLE...
If our example, if a prospects only purchase the $37 meal guide and passed on everything else, they're still great prospects because they've shown a willingness to pull out their credit card and invest with you. So the nutrition coach could have an automated follow up sequence that shares more details of what to expect in a 1-on-1 session, the benefits, and perhaps even an additional bonus for signing up.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. The follow up sequence is your opportunity to take another shot to help prospects achieve the outcome they desire.
